(Washington, D.C.) – On December 1, the Coalition for the Northeast Corridor (CNEC) met with Congressman Donald Payne Jr. (D-NJ) to discuss the legislative needs of the Northeast Corridor (NEC) during the 117th Congress.

“We want to thank Congressman Payne for joining members of the CNEC to discuss how Congress can support critical investments in the NEC that have been stalled, key legislation to improve the capacity and safety of commuter rail, and the importance of rail in creating much needed employment opportunities for those living up and down the Corridor,” said Michael Friedberg, Executive Director of CNEC. “Congressman Payne is an important advocate for the NEC. We look forward to working with him and his staff to support passenger rail in the 117th Congress.”

CNEC is the business community’s voice for strengthening rail infrastructure in order to reduce congestion, create jobs and grow the economy. We represent diverse stakeholders who rely on the Corridor to conduct commerce, access customers, and transport employees.
